My favorite activity out of the Austin trip was the SXSW Create event. It showcased how “Tomorrow happens here” as Sean Branagan would put it. There were a lot of hands on activities, allowing people to understand their mission or what they do first hand. I got to see 3D printers, virtual reality devices, and other experiments. We also explored the city, rented bikes and roamed around. We met employees from several local businesses and asked them their opinion of the startup community or Austin in general. From most of the individuals, I heard that they are very happy with Austin and the community, but the traffic could definitely be better! Also, it was surprising that a lot of people were actually unaware of the startup community.
