There is never a dull moment in Austin, Texas, whether it is due to the great conversations with the locals or the energetic night life. While exploring Austin I met many wonderful people and got a taste of how fun it would be to live there.
One of my first nights in Austin I attended the last stop of the startup crawl. Walking in I didn’t know what I should expect. It turns out that entrepreneurs really know how to get down. While at this event I was able to interact with a wide variety of people all passionate about their businesses. It was nice being acknowledged as an entrepreneur and not just a student.
While walking the streets my group and I happened to cross paths with a group of men who had a startup. Even though we were feeling guilty about disrupting their work we engaged them in a conversation. Their company is called Ananabox and it blocks your location and actions from other people. These men have been involved with a few startups and this is their latest. They were all so friendly and willing to talk to us, it was very exciting.
Our next encounter was with a man named Ryan. He was representing the company Bounce, all the way from New Mexico. Bounce allows People and businesses to get word out about their events and you can choose the distance it will advertise to.
Austin was so relaxing and I enjoyed my time being out around the city and even ending up on a beautiful farm. I really enjoyed seeing all of the art on the buildings and even on the sidewalk. On my last day in Austin, I met with a woman who was a part of a shelter in Austin. It was great seeing her love for all of the an all in her care and for her city. I absolutely loved my time in Austin and I learned a great deal about the startup community.
